We may share information with service providers and platform partners that help us host, secure, authenticate, bill, support, analyze, advertise within the mobile app, provide AI-assisted features, or otherwise operate the Services, as well as where required by law or in connection with a business transaction.
What rights do you have? Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of certain personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing.

In Short: We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us or that is created through your use of the Services.
Depending on how you use the Services, we may collect the following categories of personal information:

- Authentication information associated with account registration, sign-in, password reset, and Google sign-in
- User-generated business and operational content, including ingredients, recipes, batches, inventory records, costing data, pricing data, settings, and related notes
- Supplier item details you choose to capture or save through the Chrome extension, including ingredient or item names, supplier names, quantities, units, pack sizes, prices, category selections, source website domain or URL, and related review details
- Event, client, and planning information that you choose to store, including client names, event names, guest counts, allergy notes, dietary restrictions, and related notes
- Business profile and document branding information, including business name, address, phone, email, website, footer notes, and logos or images you choose to upload
- Photos, images, documents, spreadsheets, screenshots, attachments, and files you choose to upload, import, or include with support or feedback requests
- Support requests, feedback, assistant feedback, and other communications you send to us
- Messages, questions, prompts, page context, workflow context, and feedback you choose to submit through Sous Chef or other AI-assisted features
Sensitive Information. We do not intentionally require sensitive personal information in order to create or maintain an account. If you elect to enter information such as allergy or dietary information into the Services, we will process that information only as part of the content you choose to provide.
Information received from third parties. Depending on the features you use, we may receive limited information from third parties, including:
- Google, if you sign in using Google or use the Chrome extension’s Google sign-in option
- Stripe, in connection with web-based subscriptions, billing portal access, customer linking, and subscription status
- Google Play, in connection with mobile app subscriptions or in-app billing
- OpenFoodFacts, if you use product or barcode lookup features
- OpenAI or other AI service providers, if you use Sous Chef or other AI-assisted guidance features
Payment card details for web subscriptions are processed by Stripe. We do not store full payment card numbers on our own servers.
Information automatically collected
In Short: We automatically collect certain technical, device, diagnostic, analytics, and usage information when you use the Services.
When you visit or use the Services, we and our service providers may automatically collect information such as:
- Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser type, device type, operating system, app or browser version, timestamps, referring URLs, and similar technical information
- Service logs, error logs, function logs, diagnostic information, security-related information, and workflow context used to maintain, troubleshoot, and protect the Services
- Product usage and analytics information, such as pages viewed, features used, button interactions, subscription flow events, export events, assistant interactions, approximate viewport or device details, and timestamps
- Mobile app crash and reliability information used to diagnose issues and improve performance
Browser, application, extension, and device storage. On the website and web app, we may use cookies, local storage, service worker technologies, and related browser-based storage to support core functionality, remember preferences, retain limited recent activity, and improve performance. In the Chrome extension, we may use Chrome extension storage to keep sign-in state, site permission state, language and theme preferences, and temporary captured drafts. Temporary captured drafts are used to help prevent accidental loss of reviewed supplier item information. On the mobile app, we may use on-device storage to save settings, login preferences, subscription or access state, and other service-related preferences.
Notifications. If you grant permission on your mobile device, we may send service-related notifications, including notifications relating to downloads, exports, or similar application functions. You may manage notification settings through your device settings.
AI-assisted features. If you use Sous Chef or other AI-assisted features, we may process the messages you submit, relevant page or workflow context, locale, and limited account or app context needed to generate a response. AI-assisted responses are provided for guidance, troubleshooting, and workflow support only. Sous Chef does not independently save, import, edit, purchase, submit, or change information on your behalf.
Information about other individuals. If you enter personal information relating to another person into the Services, such as client information or dietary or allergy information, you represent that you are authorized to provide that information and to permit us to process it in accordance with this Privacy Notice.
1A. HOW DOES THE CHROME EXTENSION USE INFORMATION?
In Short: The Chrome extension is a capture-and-review tool for active Chef’s Food Cost Calculator users. It helps you capture supplier item details from pages you choose, review or edit those details, and save them to your ingredient library.
The Chrome extension may process:
- Your account email and authentication status, so we can confirm the correct signed-in account
- Your subscription or entitlement status, so we can confirm that saving is available for active users
- Supplier item details that you choose to capture from a supplier page or selected text
- Ingredient category choices, custom category names, language preferences, theme preferences, and temporary draft information
- The source domain or URL for the page where an item was captured, when needed to help you review the source of the captured item
The Chrome extension does not place supplier orders, connect to vendor ordering systems, automatically sync supplier accounts, sell captured supplier data, or use captured supplier page content for advertising. You choose what to capture and what to save.
Captured supplier item details are used to provide the extension’s single purpose: helping signed-in users review and save supplier item information to their Chef’s Food Cost Calculator ingredient library.
The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
We do not sell Chrome extension data, transfer it to data brokers, use it for personalized advertising, use it for unrelated purposes, or use it to determine creditworthiness or lending eligibility.
2. HOW DO WE PROCESS YOUR INFORMATION?
In Short: We process personal information as necessary to provide, operate, secure, support, improve, and administer the Services.
We may process your information for the following purposes:
- To create, authenticate, maintain, and secure user accounts
- To provide the website, web application, Web Access experience, Chrome extension, and mobile application
- To store, sync, display, and organize the content you create within the Services
- To let Chrome extension users capture, review, edit, and save supplier item details to their ingredient library
- To prevent duplicate ingredients, preserve temporary drafts, restore recent extension state, and support user-selected language or theme preferences
- To store and manage uploaded recipe and batch photos, document branding images, support screenshots, or other files you choose to use with the Services
- To process subscriptions, manage billing, link purchases to the correct account, restore access, and administer entitlements
- To facilitate user-initiated exports, downloads, sharing, and similar functionality
- To provide Sous Chef or other AI-assisted guidance features when you choose to use them
- To respond to customer support requests, service communications, feedback, and troubleshooting reports
- To understand feature usage, measure product performance, improve onboarding, diagnose issues, and make the Services more useful and reliable
- To detect, investigate, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, security incidents, and technical issues
- To comply with applicable law, lawful requests, and our contractual or legal obligations
3. WHAT LEGAL BASES DO WE RELY ON TO PROCESS YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?

- Google Play in connection with mobile subscriptions and in-app billing administration
- OpenFoodFacts if you elect to use product or barcode lookup features that send lookup data to that service
- AI service providers that help power Sous Chef or other AI-assisted guidance features when you choose to use them
- Analytics, diagnostics, and error-monitoring providers that help us understand usage, identify failures, troubleshoot issues, and improve reliability
- Professional advisers, regulators, law enforcement authorities, or courts where disclosure is required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, property, safety, or the integrity of the Services
- Successors, acquirers, or affiliated entities in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, asset sale, or similar business transaction
We do not sell Chrome extension data, transfer Chrome extension data to advertising platforms or data brokers, or use Chrome extension data to determine creditworthiness or lending eligibility.
5. WHAT IS OUR STANCE ON THIRD-PARTY WEBSITES?
In Short: We are not responsible for the privacy or security practices of third-party websites, services, or applications that are not controlled by us.
The Services may contain links to third-party websites, sign-in pages, app stores, payment pages, external lookup services, supplier websites, or other third-party properties. Any personal information collected by such third parties is governed by their own privacy notices and policies, and not by this Privacy Notice.
If you use the Chrome extension on a supplier website, your use of that supplier website remains subject to that supplier’s own terms and privacy practices.
In Short: Yes. We use cookies, local storage, Chrome extension storage, device storage, service-worker technologies, analytics technologies, diagnostic technologies, and similar technologies as reasonably necessary to operate and support the Services.
On the website and web app, we may use cookies and similar browser technologies to:
- Enable sign-in and other essential functionality
- Remember preferences and limited recent activity
- Improve performance through caching and service-worker or PWA functionality
- Measure feature usage, diagnose errors, monitor reliability, and improve the Services
In the Chrome extension, we may use Chrome extension storage to remember sign-in state, site permission state, language and theme preferences, and temporary captured drafts. Temporary captured drafts are used to help prevent accidental loss of reviewed supplier item information.
On the mobile app, we may use on-device storage and similar technologies to retain settings, app state, login preferences, subscription or access status, and other service-related preferences.
The mobile app may also display advertisements through Google AdMob and related Google services. In that context, Google and its partners may collect or receive certain device, application, network, or usage information in accordance with their own policies and applicable settings.
We do not represent in this Privacy Notice that the website, web app, or Chrome extension presently uses separate remarketing or advertising pixels beyond the technologies specifically described herein.
In Short: If you choose to sign in with Google, we may receive limited profile information from Google for authentication and account administration purposes.
If you sign in using Google, we may receive information such as your name, email address, and other information that you authorize Google to share. We use that information to create or authenticate your account and to provide the Services. We do not control how Google independently processes your information, and you should review Google’s own privacy policy for additional details.
If you sign in using Google through the Chrome extension, we use the information received from Google to authenticate your existing Chef’s Food Cost Calculator account, verify access where required, and provide the extension. The Chrome extension is intended for users with an existing Chef’s Food Cost Calculator account and active subscription, and Google sign-in in the extension should not be used to create new extension-only accounts.
8. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION?
In Short: We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Notice, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
In general, we may retain personal information:
- For so long as your account remains active
- As necessary to provide support, security, subscription, billing, access-restoration, backup, analytics, diagnostics, and fraud-prevention functions

Chrome extension captured drafts may be stored temporarily in extension storage to prevent accidental data loss. Drafts may be cleared when you clear the draft, save the item, sign out, or when the temporary draft period expires, depending on the extension state.
When we no longer have a legitimate need to retain personal information, we will delete it, de-identify it, or retain it only as necessary for lawful backup, compliance, dispute resolution, or enforcement purposes.
9. HOW DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION SAFE?
In Short: We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information.
Although we use safeguards designed to protect personal information, no method of electronic transmission, storage, or processing can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Accordingly, we cannot guarantee absolute security, and you provide information to the Services at your own risk.
