How Ingredient Library works
Ingredient Library is one of the main foundations of the web workspace. It gives you one place to create, organize, update, search, filter, export, and maintain saved ingredient records. These records are used across recipes, prep batches, inventory, and other connected costing workflows. It also supports ingredient import, custom categories, usage tracking, and pricing refreshes when ingredient costs change.
Saved ingredient records
Create ingredient records with the ingredient name, supplier name, category, pack amount, unit, total paid, and calculated cost per unit. This lets the same cost data be reused throughout the system.
Search, filter, sort, and bulk management
Review your ingredient library from one place. Search by ingredient, supplier, category, or unit. Filter records, sort results, bulk edit selected items, and bulk delete when needed.
Pricing updates that carry forward
When an ingredient record is updated, dependent saved recipe and batch pricing can be recalculated so total cost and related pricing fields stay more current.
Cost per unit calculation
Each ingredient record stores the pricing details behind the item and calculates cost per unit from total paid and amount, giving recipes and prep batches cleaner cost data to build from.
Usage visibility across recipes and batches
